【摘要】:Thismethodisfordeterminingtotalnormalparaffins(TNP)andindividualnormalparaffinsinhydrocarbons,suchastheUOPMolexprocessstreams,includingsamplescontainingtheMolexprocessdesorbent.SamplesaretypicallyintheC8toC20carbonnumberrange.Bypreheatingthesampleandaddingasuitablesolvent,therangecanbeextendeduptoC40.Themass-%TNPatthehighandlowconcentrationstendtobebiasedslightlyhighbecauseofincompletecompensationfornon-normalsatthenormalparaffinsites.AslightlymoreaccurateTNPvaluewouldbeexpectedusingUOPMethod411(seeNOTE).Thelowerlimitofdetectionis0.01mass-%foranycompound.
